![]() Infinity doesn't require merc to proc it, sets in more reliably, and of course is going to be ~2x the lightning damage on phoenix strike across various mobs, so its better overall, but the point is you can make a very functional sin with reapers as a budget replacement, enigma is the main expense of the build, infinity is a luxury and not as mandatory as it is on lightning sorcs / trappers / javazons.At some point corpse explosion itself becomes mediocre because even in players 8 your poison nova is so effective that just repeatedly casting it to tag more monsters / refresh duration is going to be a faster clear speed than adding in corpse explosions which are relatively low damage by comparison, even with lr/amp + conviction. Vs 50 dr / 100+ fire resist mob (venom lord): reapers = 0.15x, infinity = 0.16x Vs 33 dr / 100+ fire resist mob (doom knight): reapers = 0.1755x, infinity = 0.2144 Vs 50 dr / 0 fire resist mob (storm caster): reapers = 1.1x, infinity = 0.975x Vs 0 dr / 0 fire resist mob: reapers = 1.65x, infinity = 1.95x So to compare a build with 2x facet in helm, sunder gc and reapers vs infinity Just to give some relative damage multipliers, higher number better, ie if opponent has 0% dr / 0% fire resist and you have -50% dr / -10% fire resist you'd wind up with 1.5*1.1 = 1.65x multiplier Otherwise you're only using phoenix strike vs fire immunes without infinity which really sucks, especially 75% resist venom lords Gets a lot closer if you can get the facets in helm since we're talking about the effects of -resists after sunder, most non-immunes will die very quickly either way. Infinity is BiS but reapers is far cheaper for very similar damage numbers
